"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, ANYONE can start from NOW and make a brand new ending." - Carl Bard
While preparing for the Easter festivities today, I came to a realization ... why don't people make Easter Resolutions? Jesus died and was resurrected; thus made new. In a sense, we are also made new. (Yes, I know ... there's a lot more to this, but for the sake of this posting, I'm going to keep things simple).
So, instead of having New Year's Resolutions, I'm going to start having Easter Resolutions:
1. Find a Church Home
I'm embarrassed to admit that we have not attended church at all in 2012. I don't like this fact one bit. I don't like the fact that our motivation to attend has diminished. And I don't like the fact that we still don't have a church home. I miss being involved in church activities. I'm praying that God will show us where He wants us to be. And I'm going to start making an effort to get involved. Whatever happened in the past is in the past. It's time to start fresh and move forward.
2. Keep my blog updated
I have been really slacking in this area. I need to keep it updated more than just once a month. Even if it's just for a quote of the day.
3. Organize something a week
Yesterday, I organized our storage pantry. I took all our cleaning supplies, bags, sprays, and overflow items out and reorganized everything by putting them away in labeled bins. Every time I look in this room, I feel such a sense of accomplishment. I love that feeling! So once a week, I'm going to organize something. Even if it's a junk drawer.

I pray that you all had a wonderful Easter filled with new resolutions! :-)

Great idea!! Love it! Have you tried Maranatha CRC or Providence Church? We have attended both and LOVE them both. We were at Providence for 3 years and no intention of leaving until Brian got a job at Maranatha. Amazing people attend there, they have a pretty good crew of people our age and a new (young) pastor...he's great! We recently moved to Hudsonville, so we are in the process of trying to find a new church too...totally understand your frustration. I've actually enjoyed the process and visiting lots of different churches...it's helped me realize what I value in a church...but I'd definitely like to find "home" and it hasn't happened yet. Probably b/c nothing matches up to Maranatha or Providence. Good luck!
