Finally ... a blog update!!

Yes, I know it's been a while since I updated my blog. It's been super crazy in our lives recently ... with Blake attending his new daycare into later hours, it means that Mommy has been working later hours, which means that by the time we get home, eat dinner, give Blake a bath, then it's time for bed. At that point, I'm too tired to do anything, including computer work. So now it's catch-up time.

During the last few weeks, I made three blankets for our employees:

Blanket for Terri, who wanted a fall-themed blanket. I wish my camera would capture the true colors of this blanket, as the fringe was a pretty dark green, not black like it appears here.

Blanket for Sara, who is also a certified jeweler. With the help of my Mom, we decided to go with a bright, jewel-looking blanket.

We put bright stripes on the back of Sara's blanket, and it turned out very nice!

Blanket for Lil' Jon, whose unofficial nickname is "Robot". Perfect blanket for him!

Blake lost his 8th tooth (looking at him, it's the upper right). The tooth fairy gave him a new school backpack and a pack of Pokemon cards.

I took him to the splash pad in downtown Holland. It was a beautiful day, and Blake had a blast!

He said the water was cold, but couldn't resist playing in it.

Yesterday, we had our yearly Labor Day Weekend cook-out. Steve brought a new game over ... Mitten Ball. Or is it Volley Mitten? Whatever it's called, it's a combination of volleyball and badminton. You hit a ball with racquets over a net and can hit the ball after it bounces. It is a super fun game and we played it for quite a long time!

And my piano lessons. How I love thee but I sure wish that my fingers and my brain would work together. I'm at the point of learning to read the music, and I have to say that I'm really struggling with it. But I'm not gonna give up. My piano teacher is really patient with me, which I'm really thankful for!
