Tulip Time 2011 ...

Since my Dutch costume last year was so big on me, I gave it away. I was going to get a new one to march in the Kinderparade with Blake this year, but with my health issues and recovering from surgery, I wasn't sure I'd make the long parade route. So next year, I'm planning on getting a new costume and marching with him (Lord willing).

Such a cute little Dutch boy!

Can you see Blake holding the chalkboard?

I'm trying to figure out who wanted him to carry the math chalkboard ... Blake or his teacher? It is by far his most favorite subject and always scores very high on his math tests.

It was extremely hot during the parade. All the kids were drenched with sweat. Poor Blakey had sweat running all down his costume. All the Vanderbilt kids received a popsicle after the parade, then it was time to go home. As soon as we got into the car, Blake stripped off his costume and sat bare-chested in the car. And he was so tired. Poor little guy! But he said he had a lot of fun, despite being so hot.
