An answer to prayer ...

I got my answer about the Guatemala trip.

The answer is "No."

Although I was super excited and motivated after hearing the speaker talk about Guatemala a few weeks ago, in my reality, I can't be traveling out of the country just yet.

I need to concentrate on staying healthy for a longer period of time. I had briefly forgotten about last summer, and that I recently had surgery, and that I had just started driving again after not doing it for a year.

I think my excitement about this trip was the fact that it would take place just before my 35th birthday. For a few years, I've wanted to do something "really awesome" for this birthday. I thought about getting a tattoo, but I just can't find the right picture, one that would be on my body for the rest of my life. Then this trip came up, and I thought that would be the "really awesome" thing to do.

Maybe I'll just have a big party and invite all our friends and family to our house. Have a great big game night with tables of various games set up throughout the house. Of course, it's still six months away, so I have plenty of time to think about it.

But for now, I'm going to concentrate on other things ... organizing my house, staying healthy, raising our chickens, and being a good Mom and wife. For now, that is what I'm supposed to do.
